For Sale By Owner Guide

Step 4 - Working With Buyers

To better understand home buyers, you must know what they typically do. Normally a home buyer will look extensively at homes and decide what kind of home they want and the area that they want to live in. Once they are comfortable and ready to purchase, they will get pre qualified for a loan typically, and also hire a real estate agent to help them buy a home.

During this process, the house hunter will ask to see homes that meet their criteria and if they find ones on an online search, they will ask if their agent can book a time to go see it.

When you market your property as For Sale By Owner the right way, and if it’s not overpriced, you will start getting requests to see the home and/or people dropping by to take a closer look.

Another thing to note is that once you post your listing on these websites, you will begin getting calls from Realtors® attempting to be hired to sell your listing. The best way to keep them from keep calling is to let them know you are already committed to a Realtor® should you decide to list with one, which I’m hoping will be Me!

Most buyers will want to have the home inspected which will more than likely find things that need repaired and taken care of.

Note on Negotiations: Just like trying to represent yourself in court, it’s always best to be represented by a third party whose sole purpose is your best interest. This is the reason why over 90% over home sellers choose to use a Realtor® as opposed to going FSBO.

Contracts and Due Diligence are what we are going to discuss in the NEXT STEP.
